The foreign ministers from the UAE and seven other countries have strongly condemned the actions of Israeli settlers at Al Aqsa Mosque, particularly the raising of the Israeli flag in its courtyards. They described these actions as provocative and a blatant violation of international law, relevant United Nations resolutions, and the historical status of the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem. The ministers stressed that Al Aqsa Mosque, covering 144 dunams, is exclusively for Muslim worship and that the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has legal authority over its administration. They held Israeli authorities responsible for halting these escalatory actions, warning that such violations exacerbate tensions and undermine peace efforts. The ministers reiterated their unwavering support for the Palestinian people's rights, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and called for a comprehensive peace based on the two-State solution.
