Images of the upcoming Xbox Elite 3 controller have leaked online, showcasing a redesigned premium controller that introduces several new features. According to regulatory filings from Brazil’s Anatel agency, the Elite 3 retains popular elements from the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, such as interchangeable D-pads and rear paddles, while presenting a more refined design. Notably, the controller includes two new scroll wheel-style controls located at the bottom, which may serve for in-game adjustments, especially in simulation games like Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Another significant enhancement is the new pairing system that allows the Elite 3 to connect directly to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers, potentially reducing latency during gameplay. This feature aligns with Microsoft's focus on cloud gaming and accessory integration. Additionally, the Elite 3 will feature a removable rechargeable battery with a capacity of 1,528mAh, lower than the 2,050mAh battery of its predecessor, but offering easier replacement for long-term users.
