In 2022, Perak, Malaysia recorded 163 cases of bullying in schools, according to Khairudin Abu Hanipah, the state education committee chairman. Of these, 136 incidents occurred on school premises, while 22 were reported in hostels and 5 outside school grounds. The district of Kinta Utara led with 42 cases, including 39 in schools. As of February 28, 2023, 24 additional cases have been reported statewide, with Manjung district recording the highest at 9 cases.
