A 70-year-old woman was allegedly raped in her home in Ranjit Nagar, central Delhi on April 11. The accused, identified as Mukesh, had previously visited her under the pretext of asking for drinking water, which allowed him to confirm she was alone. After forcibly entering her residence, he assaulted and raped her. The incident was reported to the police through a PCR call, initially indicating physical assault. Upon further investigation, including a second medical examination prompted by the victim's daughter, the sexual assault aspect was confirmed. Police utilized CCTV footage and local intelligence to trace Mukesh, who was arrested on April 13 in Pandav Nagar, east Delhi. Following his confession during interrogation, he has been remanded to judicial custody.
