Sagar Business Ventures Limited (SBVL), in collaboration with Tata Steel, has unveiled India's first TJK Superflex weldmesh manufacturing line at its facility in Tangi, Cuttack district, Odisha. This state-of-the-art unit, developed with an investment of ₹70 crore (approximately $8.4 million USD), can produce weldmesh panels up to 3.3 metres wide, surpassing the conventional 2.4 metres standard. The unit is expected to enhance construction efficiency across various sectors, including high-rise buildings and infrastructure projects, by providing faster and more precise reinforcement solutions. SBVL plans to invest an additional ₹100 crore (approximately $12 million USD) to expand its operations and aims to double its turnover to ₹1,500 crore (approximately $180 million USD) by 2030, creating over 1,000 direct jobs. The facility also features an integrated steel processing ecosystem designed to process 1.44 lakh metric tonnes of steel annually, supporting over 500 skilled jobs. This launch positions Odisha as a hub for advanced engineering and construction technologies.
