Maruti Suzuki has officially launched commercial production at its second plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, starting on May 18. This new plant enhances the company's annual production capacity by 2.5 lakh units, contributing to a total capacity of 26.5 lakh units across all facilities. The first Kharkhoda plant, which began operations in February 2025, also has a capacity of 2.5 lakh units, bringing the combined production capabilities of the Kharkhoda facility to 5 lakh units per year. Maruti Suzuki operates four manufacturing locations, including Gurugram with 5 lakh units, Manesar with 9 lakh units, and Hansalpur in Gujarat with 7.5 lakh units. The expansion aligns with the company’s plan to increase production capacity by 5 lakh units during the fiscal year 2026-27. The Kharkhoda facility is significant as it is expected to become one of Suzuki’s largest four-wheeler manufacturing sites, with a future capacity of 10 lakh vehicles annually. The foundation stone for this facility was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2022, marking a key milestone in Maruti Suzuki's growth strategy.
