Pune City Police's crime branch conducted a raid on an unauthorized party in the Tulapur area, detaining 156 individuals, including 107 men and 49 women. The operation took place around 2:30 AM on June 7, following specific intelligence. Authorities discovered that the event organizers, Aiman Sheikh of Blaze Entertainment and Yash Chaudhary of Star Light Entertainment, had exceeded the valid liquor permit hours, which expired at 11:30 PM on June 6. During the raid, police seized approximately three grams of ganja, liquor stock worth around ₹9.22 lakh, and three hookah pots containing banned flavors. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around ₹85 lakh. This operation is part of a broader effort by police to combat illegal liquor activities, especially after recent incidents where at least 15 people died from consuming poisonous illicit liquor in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Legal actions are being pursued against those involved in the unauthorized event.
