On Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh expanded his cabinet, inducting six new ministers, which includes two at cabinet rank and four ministers of state. This move is perceived as a strategic effort to enhance the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) socio-political equations ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The newly appointed ministers comprise a mix of Brahmin, OBC, and Dalit leaders, indicating an effort to balance caste representation.
