During Superbike Qualifying at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, MotoAmerica rider PJ Jacobsen suffered a serious crash on his Ducati Panigale V4 R. The incident occurred when Jacobsen rode over the kerb, causing his motorcycle to lose traction. He struggled to regain control but ultimately low-sided, resulting in a headfirst fall and being dragged across the track. Medical personnel attended to him, and he was transported to the infield medical center. Although Jacobsen was conscious, he has been diagnosed with a concussion and ruled unfit to race until further notice. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jacobsen apologized to his team, the Rahal Ducati team, expressing his commitment to recover and return to racing. The team has yet to announce a replacement rider for the upcoming race.
