SolarEdge Technologies, a leader in smart energy solutions, has launched its new CSS-OD 197 kWh commercial storage system, aimed at medium-to-large scale commercial and industrial applications in Europe and Asia. This innovative storage solution can reach capacities of up to 4 MWh per site, allowing businesses to maximize the economics of solar self-consumption. Following the successful adoption of its previous 102.4 kWh storage system, SolarEdge's new offering is designed to support various applications, including peak shaving and tariff optimization. The system comprises a 197 kWh-rated Battery Cabinet and one or two 50 kW battery inverters, making it scalable up to 1 MW. This expansion reflects the increasing demand for efficient energy storage solutions as businesses shift towards self-consumption, especially in light of changing market dynamics away from net metering. Naama Ohana, Chief of the Commercial & Industrial Division at SolarEdge, noted that the market response to their initial storage solution has been encouraging, presenting new revenue opportunities for partners as the need for more storage capacity grows.
