In a significant operation, the Pune city police's crime branch successfully dismantled a sex racket in Koregaon Park on Tuesday, rescuing four foreign women, all Kenyan nationals. The raid was executed by the anti-human trafficking cell (AHTC) following a tip-off regarding illegal prostitution activities at a service apartment located at Abhibha Stay, C 25, room number 20, Liberty Society phase 2, North Main Road. Police confirmed the operation began with a decoy customer sent to the premises, which led to the raid after verification of the illicit activities. The rescued women have been moved to a safe house for legal assistance and counseling. The involved individuals have been charged under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Initial investigations indicate that the operation was managed by organized intermediaries who facilitated client arrangements. Authorities suggest that further arrests are likely as they delve into the potential interstate and international links of this network, which has been operating in the upscale Koregaon Park area of Pune.
