In response to these developments, Iran's Navy has stated that all vessels must now obtain permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy to transit through the Strait of Hormuz, marking a shift in control over this critical waterway. This situation has led to claims of a 'double blockade' by shipowners, as both the US and Iran impose restrictions on maritime traffic.
