India's Tier 2 cities are becoming the focal point for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), moving away from the traditional dominance of Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Cities like Ahmedabad, Indore, and Jaipur are increasingly preferred due to their lower attrition rates, which are 8 to 12 percentage points lower than major metro areas. This trend is largely attributed to a stable workforce that prioritizes long-term employment, driven by a better quality of life, including larger living spaces and shorter commutes. DevX, a company with over 30 managed workspace centers, is actively promoting this shift by providing comprehensive operational support for GCCs. The design of workspaces is also evolving to enhance employee experience, with a focus on creating environments that foster productivity and retention. As the GCC ecosystem in India matures, contributing more than $64 billion in annual revenue, the competitive edge will belong to companies that can retain talent effectively in these emerging markets, emphasizing the importance of both quality of life and purposeful workspace design.
