This facility is positioned to cater to the increasing demand for high-performance alkaline batteries, which are essential for power-intensive devices. Anirban Banerjee, the chief executive of Eveready Industries, stated that this is India's only operational alkaline battery facility. The plant boasts an annual peak production capacity of 360 million alkaline batteries and aims to enhance supply chain resilience while reducing the country's reliance on imports. The company reported a 10.11% year-on-year increase in standalone net sales for the quarter ending December 31, 2025, amounting to ₹366.97 crore. However, net profit fell by 43.6% due to rising operational costs. With over 20% market share in the alkaline battery segment and 52% in the dry cell battery market, the new facility is expected to create local jobs and boost ancillary industries.
