Andhra Pradesh is set to commission its first solar project under the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 on May 22 in Rayalaseema. The 600-MW solar facility, developed by SAEL Industries with an investment of ₹3,000 crore (approximately $360 million USD), has been completed in a record 11 months. This rapid execution underscores the state's commitment to transforming into India's clean energy capital and reflects strong investor confidence. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed pride in this milestone, noting that it aligns with the government's goal of attracting ₹10 lakh crore (approximately $1.2 trillion USD) in green energy investments over the coming years. IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh also emphasized the significance of the project, stating that Andhra Pradesh is not only securing major investments but also achieving remarkable project completion timelines. This initiative is part of the '#ChooseSpeedChooseAP' campaign, which focuses on fostering industrial growth alongside sustainable energy development. The inauguration of this solar project marks a pivotal moment in the state's renewable energy journey, setting a precedent for future projects under the new policy.
