On Thursday, Muslims across Tamil Nadu celebrated Bakrid by offering special prayers and sharing food and essential items with the needy. The Tamil Nadu Thowheedh Jamaath organized prayers at Eidgah Grounds in Melapalayam, where thousands participated. M. Shamsul Luha Rahmani, the state administrative committee chairman of TNTJ, encouraged attendees to use their resources for societal development, stating that Muslims should uplift the lives of the poor, regardless of their background. Additional prayers were conducted at Al-Madina School and Masjid-ul-Huda mosque, where Shahul Hameed Usmani highlighted the need for love, peace, and support for the oppressed. Bakrid prayers were also held in several other locations, including Pettai and Burkitmanagar, where participants greeted one another and engaged in charitable acts. The celebrations included the sacrifice of sheep and bulls, with the meat and grocery items distributed to the less fortunate, reinforcing the spirit of community and generosity during this significant occasion.
