In a significant revelation, Thol Thirumavalavan, the chief of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), confirmed that both the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) approached him with offers for the chief minister's position during the recent political turmoil in Tamil Nadu. This occurred as C Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) sought to form a government after emerging as the single-largest party but falling short of a majority. Thirumavalavan recounted that he received separate invitations for discussions on May 7, where DMK leader M.K. Stalin presented a proposal to support AIADMK's Edappadi Palaniswami as CM. However, Thirumavalavan rejected this notion, stating it would jeopardize DMK's future. The situation escalated on May 8 when he was again proposed as a potential CM candidate, which he found laughable. Despite these offers, Thirumavalavan remained loyal to TVK, aiding them in achieving a majority. The political landscape remains tense, with internal conflicts within AIADMK surfacing as factions vie for power, further complicated by rumors involving superstar Rajinikanth's potential role in facilitating discussions between rival parties.
