The Punjab government has sanctioned a relief package of ₹123.28 crore for farmers whose crops were damaged by hailstorms last month. The relief will cover 92,695 acres across 111 villages in seven districts. Hardeep Singh Mundian, the state's revenue, rehabilitation, and disaster management minister, detailed that the damage included 992 acres with 26% to 32% loss, 61,115 acres with 33% to 75% loss, and 30,588 acres with total loss. The districts most affected include Fazilka, which received the highest allocation of ₹44.24 crore, followed by Muktsar Sahib at ₹43 crore, and Bathinda at ₹22.83 crore.
