Nvidia has officially entered the PC chip market with its new RTX Spark, unveiled at the Computex conference in Taipei. This chip is designed for artificial intelligence, content creation, and gaming, signaling a significant shift in Nvidia's business strategy. Following the announcement, Nvidia's stock rose by 4%, while shares of major PC hardware manufacturers Intel and AMD fell by 4% and 3%, respectively. Qualcomm, another competitor in the PC chip sector, saw a 6% decline in its stock. Nvidia's move marks a departure from its previous reliance on Intel and AMD for central processing units (CPUs), as it aims to compete directly with these companies. Despite the stock volatility, both AMD and Intel have experienced substantial gains this year, with AMD's stock up 130% and Intel's nearly 200%. Analysts suggest that Nvidia's entry into the PC market could pose significant challenges for Intel and AMD, as well as complicate Qualcomm's attempts to establish itself in this space.
