On Friday, Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, held important discussions with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Umerov, who is closely associated with President Volodymyr Zelensky, provided insights into the current situation on the frontline during his meetings. Both Jaishankar and Doval reiterated India's commitment to a peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy. Umerov emphasized the need for a just and lasting peace, while also discussing the development of bilateral relations and the implementation of prior agreements made during a meeting between Zelensky and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2024. He expressed appreciation for the open dialogue and the shared understanding of the importance of finding sustainable solutions.
