The Filipino American community in Massachusetts is gearing up to celebrate the 128th anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence with a series of events throughout June. Organized by the Philippine-American Mainstream Advocacy for Nonpartisan Associations, Inc. (PAMANA) in collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General in New York, the festivities will showcase Filipino heritage and culture. The celebration kicks off with a festival and parade on June 6, taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Following this, a Philippine flag-raising ceremony will be held on June 12 at Boston City Hall, starting with a reception at 11 a.m. and the ceremony at noon. The celebrations will culminate in a gala on June 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at The Verve Hotel in Natick, Massachusetts. These events are part of a nationwide initiative to honor Philippine Independence Day and recognize the contributions of Filipino communities across the United States. PAMANA was originally established in 1998 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Philippine Independence and was renamed in 2006.
