North Korea has firmly rejected a recent call from the Quad nations—comprising the United States, India, Japan, and Australia—for its complete denuclearization. Following a Quad foreign ministers' meeting in New Delhi, the group reiterated its commitment to denuclearization in line with relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions (UNSCRs) and condemned North Korea's missile development and cyber activities. In response, North Korea's foreign ministry accused the Quad of infringing on its sovereign rights, asserting that the denuclearization of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) would never occur. The ministry condemned the Quad's stance as a hostile approach that threatens regional peace and stability. Notably, this year's response from Pyongyang was seen as less intense compared to last year’s, with criticism extending beyond the US to include Japan and Australia, suggesting a defense of China's position as well. The Quad has called for all UN member states to fully implement sanctions against North Korea, emphasizing the need for collective action against its weapons programs.
