Quinn Strang, a 20-year-old cancer survivor from Moncton, New Brunswick, embarked on a hitchhiking journey across Canada starting May 17, 2023, to raise funds for cancer research. His goal is to collect $100,000, with over $25,000 raised so far. Quinn's journey follows the route of Terry Fox, whose Marathon of Hope ended near Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 1980 due to cancer. Half of the funds raised will benefit the Terry Fox Foundation, while the other half will support the patient family support trust fund at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Quinn's personal battle with Stage 4 Ewing sarcoma, diagnosed when he was 15, has motivated him to advocate for cancer research and support. Despite the challenges of hitchhiking across Canada, Quinn has met many supportive individuals along the way, showcasing the kindness of strangers. His father, Steve Strang, expressed pride in his son's determination and the awareness Quinn is raising for cancer. After a month-long adventure, Quinn plans to return home via a flight, reflecting on the incredible experiences and connections made during his journey.
