The total number of voters stands at 236,532, comprising 114,876 men and 121,639 women. The overall literacy rate in Sankarankovil is 82.92%, according to the 2011 Census. Voting is set to occur on April 23, 2026, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led Secular Progressive Alliance won a significant majority, securing 159 out of 234 seats.
