A significant scandal has emerged at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office in Nashik, Maharashtra, where multiple female employees have accused colleagues of sexual harassment and religious coercion. As of April 16, investigations have resulted in nine First Information Reports (FIRs) and several arrests, including that of a human resources manager, Nida Khan. Allegations detail a troubling pattern of abuse from February 2022 to March 2026, involving inappropriate touching, stalking, and exploitation under false marriage promises. Victims, primarily aged between 18 and 25, reported being pressured into religious practices contrary to their beliefs, raising concerns about forced conversions. Despite internal complaints submitted as early as 2022, victims claim that HR inaction allowed the abuse to persist. In response, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has called for an audit of TCS's compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) regulations. TCS leadership has confirmed the suspension of implicated employees and is cooperating with the investigation, while the National Commission for Women has initiated a fact-finding committee to investigate the situation further. The ongoing scrutiny aims to determine whether this issue reflects a failure of local management or a broader systemic problem within TCS's corporate culture.
