Violence erupted in Dhandhuka, a town in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, after a motorcycle accident led to the murder of 30-year-old Dharmesh Gamara. The incident occurred when two men from different communities clashed following their collision. Gamara was stabbed in the leg and later succumbed to his injuries. In the aftermath of his death, tensions escalated, resulting in a group setting fire to seven to eight roadside shops, causing significant property damage. Videos from the scene showed shops engulfed in flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky. Police and fire brigade teams responded promptly to control the fires and restore order. Authorities have arrested two individuals, identified as Samir and Rizwan, for their alleged roles in the murder, while 15-20 others have been detained in connection with the arson.
