Meanwhile, much of India continues to face severe heatwave conditions, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an 'Orange' alert for several states, including Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, as temperatures are projected to remain high for the next few days. Additionally, a 'Red' alert has been declared for parts of southern Uttar Pradesh and the Vidarbha region, indicating extreme heat. The IMD forecasts light rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next few days, while Delhi-NCR is expected to experience temperatures between 44-46 degrees Celsius.
