On Sunday, a fire broke out in the B-1 coach of Train No. 12431, the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, as it traveled through the West Central Railway’s Kota Division. The incident occurred between Luni Richha (LNR) and Vikramgarh Alot (VMA), prompting swift emergency action from railway authorities. All passengers were safely evacuated from the affected coach, and no injuries or casualties were reported. The fire was detected near the SLR end of the coach, leading officials to cut the overhead electric supply to prevent further risk. The B-1 coach was detached from the train to contain the situation. Firefighting efforts were promptly initiated by railway staff and senior officials, and operations continued to control the blaze. Train No. 12955 was temporarily halted at Mahidpur Road (MEP) due to the incident, but normal train movement is expected to resume shortly. An investigation has been launched by the West Central Railway’s Kota Division to ascertain the cause of the fire, which remains undetermined at this time.
