In Gurugram, police arrested two senior officials of a private bank for their involvement in a cyber fraud case that defrauded a resident of Faridabad of ₹4 crore (approximately $480,000 USD). The arrested individuals, Shubham Kumar (35) from Gayatri Nagar in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Kamal Kant (34) from Rakseda in Panipat, Haryana, were working at a bank branch in Panipat. They opened two current accounts using forged documents earlier this year, which were then used by a cybercrime gang to facilitate the fraud. The victim, a resident of Sector 15 in Faridabad, was lured into investing in a fake stock market scheme via social media. After making multiple transactions, he realized he had been defrauded when he could not withdraw his supposed profits.
