Jon Kemmer, a former outfielder who played for the Houston Astros, tragically passed away at the age of 35 in a single-car accident on April 12 in Texas. According to reports from the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office, Kemmer's vehicle left the roadway, struck an electrical pole, and rolled around 6:09 p.m. Kemmer was drafted by the Astros in 2013 and became a prominent prospect, ranking as high as No. 13 in the organization by 2016. He was known for his power, hitting 34 home runs and driving in 126 runs during his time with the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies. After his stint with the Astros, he played briefly for the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Dodgers before retiring from professional baseball.
