Deora emphasized that moving these meetings online would not only reduce costs associated with travel, accommodations, and logistics for the approximately 800 MPs involved but also decrease carbon emissions. While the proposal has garnered support for its potential efficiency and cost-saving benefits, concerns remain regarding cybersecurity and the handling of sensitive discussions during virtual meetings.
