Rodón, who underwent elbow surgery in October, recently completed a rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, allowing six runs (five earned) over 6 1⁄3 innings. Boone expressed confidence in Rodón's readiness, noting his command and performance in recent outings. Meanwhile, right-hander Gerrit Cole is scheduled for two to three more rehab starts before he can rejoin the Yankees. Cole, who last pitched in the 2023 World Series, is recovering from Tommy John surgery and has shown improvement in his recent performances. The Yankees currently boast a 2.77 starter ERA, the best in Major League Baseball, making their pitching staff one of the strongest in the league. Cole's return could lead to Ryan Weathers being shifted to the bullpen, despite his impressive 3.03 ERA in seven starts this season.
