Anant V Joshi, who is stepping into the role of Annu Mishra, replaces Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who portrayed the character for four seasons. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Joshi discussed the pressures of taking on this significant role and how he approached the character. He emphasized that his goal was not to imitate Gupta's performance but to evolve Annu's character naturally, reflecting the challenges faced by young adults today. Joshi stated, “My intention was never to mimic somebody or to play someone the way someone else has played the character.” He noted that Annu's journey in Season 5 involves exploring the world outside and confronting new challenges, while still retaining the warmth and love from his family.
