Supriya Sule, a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party and Member of Parliament for Baramati, experienced a close call on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway when her vehicle was struck by a speeding SUV. The incident occurred after crossing the Khalapur toll plaza, with the SUV colliding with Sule's car while attempting a reckless maneuver. Fortunately, Sule and her staff were unharmed, crediting their seat belts for their safety. Following the accident, the Highway Safety Patrol detained the SUV and its driver, who was returning from Lonavala, and registered a First Information Report for rash driving. Sule took to social media to share her experience and urged motorists to prioritize road safety, emphasizing that adherence to traffic rules is crucial for protecting lives on the road. She has resumed her duties and is advocating for stricter enforcement of traffic protocols, particularly the consistent use of seat belts for all passengers.
