Desailly stated, “I don’t see him as a top-class international leader,” suggesting that while Bastoni has helped Inter Milan achieve domestic success, he may lack the commanding presence needed at Barcelona. However, Desailly acknowledged that Bastoni could still elevate Barcelona's defense, which has been weak in crucial European matches.
