In anticipation of Bakri Eid and other upcoming festivals, the Pune City Police have enacted prohibitory orders under Section 37 (1) (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, effective from May 26 to June 8. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch), Dr. Prashant Avasakar, issued the order to prevent potential law and order disruptions caused by political and social activities in the city.
