Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the Punjab Congress president, has issued a warning to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding potential defections to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He suggested that as many as 50 MLAs could switch sides following the recent departure of Raghav Chadha and six other AAP MPs to the BJP. Warring highlighted that these exits reflect significant structural weaknesses within AAP, indicating that many members lack a strong ideological foundation. He expressed concern that the instability could extend beyond Parliament, potentially affecting state-level politics. Warring criticized the AAP's selection process, stating that many candidates were chosen based on wealth and influence rather than ideological commitment, which could lead to further defections. He cautioned that dissatisfaction and fear among AAP members could drive them to leave the party.
