In Madhubani district, Bihar, the district administration has implemented a ban on mobile phone usage by teachers during class hours. District Magistrate Anand Sharma announced this measure during a 'Census Festival' aimed at achieving full self-enumeration in the district. He emphasized the importance of teachers focusing on education without distractions from mobile devices. The ban is enforced under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which allows district authorities to prevent public disturbances. Additionally, due to insufficient classroom space, the district will conduct classes in two shifts: students in Classes 1-8 will attend from 6:30 am to 11:30 am, while those in Classes 9-12 will be taught from noon to 5 pm. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of education in Madhubani.
