Rob Dearborn, the athletic director at Moorpark High School in Moorpark, California, has been elected as the president elect of the Southern Section. His election took place on Thursday, and he will serve under current president Alexis Barile, the former principal at Corona Centennial, for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 terms. At 62 years old, Dearborn brings 40 years of experience in high school sports, having started his career at Newbury Park before moving to Moorpark. He currently directs the Southern Section track and field championships at Moorpark. Dearborn humorously noted that while he holds a new title, his wife, Denise, a former track athlete at UCLA, remains the one he salutes. His son is also involved in high school sports as a football coach at Moorpark.
