As of June 1, more than 110 private plots have been inundated across various settlements in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) due to rising water levels from the Yana River and its tributaries, following ice breakup. The regional office of Russia's Emergencies Ministry reported that 51 plots were flooded near the village of Ust-Yansk, while 48 plots were affected in the Aldan River basin, specifically in Ust-Maya, Ezhantsy, and Eldikan. Additionally, five plots in Okhotsky-Perevoz and 10 in Verkhnekolymsk have also been flooded. Fortunately, no residential buildings have suffered damage. The situation has led to the complete submergence of the runway at Zyryanka Airport. Emergency response teams are actively working in the affected areas, reinforcing riverbanks and providing assistance to residents. Drones are being utilized to monitor the flood situation across the region, which is known for its vulnerability to flooding, especially during the spring thaw and heavy rainfall periods.
