Khamenei, who succeeded his father in early March, has not appeared publicly since suffering severe injuries during Israeli strikes on Tehran on February 28. Despite his absence, officials have read several statements attributed to him, including warnings against US bases in the Middle East and threats directed at Israel, which he described as a “cancerous tumor.” These statements suggest a narrative that Israel is attempting to undermine the Iranian regime and sow division within the country.
