KP Anbalagan, a prominent leader of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), has publicly criticized actor Vijay's aspirations to lead a government in Tamil Nadu, asserting that he lacks the necessary qualifications for political leadership. Anbalagan emphasized that mere popularity from cinema does not qualify someone for governance, questioning Vijay's electoral strength and his ability to win seats in the assembly. He firmly stated that AIADMK would not support Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which recently emerged as the single-largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with 108 seats in the 234-member House, falling short of the majority by 10 seats. Anbalagan reiterated the unity of AIADMK under the leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami, asserting that the party remains committed to its political stance and will not align with TVK, regardless of the circumstances.
