The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the establishment of five Integrated AYUSH Hospitals and Colleges aimed at promoting education in traditional medicine systems such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, alongside modern health sciences. These institutions will be located in Gonda, Mirzapur, Meerut, Agra, and Basti divisions. Principal Secretary of AYUSH, Ranjan Kumar, confirmed that land has been identified for each college, with the AYUSH department already recording land in four divisions. In Gonda, approximately 14.82 acres has been earmarked in Village Kodar; in Mirzapur, 13.83 acres in village Akodhi; in Meerut, 11 acres in Saidpur village; in Agra, 13.5 acres in village Akbara; and in Basti, 15 acres in Village Jogapur. These colleges will not only provide education but will also focus on research and innovation in AYUSH practices, aiming to strengthen India’s traditional medical systems scientifically. Equipped with modern laboratories and training centers, the colleges will enhance the quality and recognition of AYUSH education in the state.
