The Karnataka Health Department announced the containment of a bird flu outbreak at a government poultry training centre in Hesaraghatta, near Bengaluru, which was first detected on April 14. Following a 10-day intensive surveillance effort, no human cases of the H5N1 virus have been reported. Affected areas were established with a 0-3 km infected zone and a 3-10 km surveillance zone. Authorities monitored 28,172 people across 22 villages, with samples from quarantined staff testing negative for the virus.
