Bengaluru's Yellow Line commuters will experience reduced wait times starting June 3, as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announces a new peak-hour frequency of 7 minutes. This improvement comes with the induction of two additional trains, bringing the total number of operational trains on the RV Road-Bommasandra line to 10. During peak hours, which run from 8 am to noon and 4 pm to 9 pm, commuters will benefit from this significant reduction from the previous 9 minutes. Non-peak hours will see a frequency improvement from 14 minutes to 10 minutes, while weekend services will also maintain a 10-minute interval. Despite these changes, the first and last train timings will remain the same. The Yellow Line, which commenced operations with just three trains in August 2025, has faced criticism for long wait times across its 18 stations. In addition to the current enhancements, the BMRCL plans to introduce five more trains soon, with the arrival of train number 11 already in progress. Furthermore, a new order for six additional trains worth ₹414 crore (approximately $50 million USD) is expected to be fulfilled by 2027, further bolstering the Yellow Line's capacity.
