In a bid to combat illegal mining and overloading, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma conducted a surprise inspection in Panchkula. During the inspection in the Shamtu area, officials discovered five trucks overloaded with soil. Following this, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) was instructed to take action against the vehicles. One truck stopped near Jaloli toll plaza revealed that its driver sourced the soil from an illegal mining site located between Shamtu and Toka villages. In response, Sharma visited the suspected illegal mining site and inspected additional vehicles transporting soil. Teams from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office and the RTA were dispatched to the area to enforce compliance with mining regulations.
