Pinarayi Vijayan, a prominent member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has called for the dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA) following the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination due to serious allegations of question paper leaks. He criticized the NTA for failing to maintain the integrity of the examination process, which has eroded the trust of countless students who invest years of hard work and financial resources preparing for these tests. Vijayan highlighted that this issue is not new, as there have been previous instances of paper leaks since the NTA took over the examination responsibilities. He expressed particular concern for students from poorer families, stating that such irregularities rob them of fair opportunities. Vijayan demanded that the Central government intervene to restore credibility to the examination system and called for a comprehensive, transparent, and time-bound investigation into the allegations. He urged that stringent punishment be meted out to those responsible, emphasizing that students' futures should not be compromised by administrative failures.
