In response to the heightened demand for LPG during the wedding season, authorities in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, have ramped up the supply of commercial LPG cylinders to 20,000 per day. This includes an extra 2,000 cylinders specifically reserved for caterers to ensure that wedding functions proceed smoothly. The supply has been nearly normalized across urban centers, easing pressure on restaurants and hotels. Additionally, 6,000 extra 5-kg cylinders will be made available to households facing shortages. However, rural areas are still experiencing challenges, particularly at marriage lawns and resorts, where demand has surged. Officials are actively working on improving distribution logistics to address these gaps and ensure that catering services are not disrupted during peak wedding dates. The district administration is closely monitoring the supply chain in collaboration with oil marketing companies to enhance scheduling and logistics.
