The makers of 'Karuppu,' a Tamil film starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, have taken legal action following unauthorized screenings in North India. The production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, issued a public notice stating that these screenings were conducted without their permission due to the alleged unauthorized activation of Key Delivery Messages (KDMs) by Qube Cinema Technologies. This incident has raised serious concerns about piracy, as it has led to the illegal recording and circulation of copyrighted material from the film. The notice warns the public against sharing any leaked content, emphasizing that such actions violate the Copyright Act of 1957 and could result in severe legal consequences. Producer SR Prabhu expressed shock at the situation during an emergency meeting with the Tamil Film Producers Council, where industry members demanded accountability from Qube Cinema Technologies. The film is scheduled for release on May 15, 2026.
