IIT Roorkee has provided a significant update for students who qualified for the JEE Advanced 2026 but do not meet the Class 12 eligibility criteria. According to a notice from the institute, candidates who scored below 75% in Class 12 (General, OBC-NCL, EWS) or below 65% (SC, ST, PwD) can still participate in the admission process. These students are allowed to fill their choices during the current counselling phase and will be allocated seats based on their ranks. However, they must submit a revised Class 12 scorecard meeting the required percentage by July 15, 2026. This decision comes in response to concerns raised by students regarding their eligibility, ensuring they are not immediately excluded from the counselling process. IIT Roorkee oversees the JEE Advanced examination and the subsequent admissions through the Joint Admission Board (JAB), which also applies similar eligibility criteria for other institutions like NITs and IIITs.
